DERBY WIN IS SPECIAL

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is extremely happy following the special derby victory against Tottenham. Arsenal have had a recent slump in form it comes to the North London derbies against Tottenham.

However, they managed a spectacular 5-2 win over Tottenham to not only end this poor record, but also improve their form and position in the league as well. Arsenal are coming into the match on the back of a very poor run of form, which has seen them slip to the seventh position in the league. They have also conceded numerous goals in recent matches.

Things did not start well in the North London derby during the weekend after the Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor scored within the first few minutes of the match. However, things immediately took a turn for the worse for Tottenham after the Togo international was given a straight red card for his challenge on the Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla. Arsenal took advantage of the red card and dominated the match from then on in. They managed to go into the half-time break with a 3-1 advantage, while the match finished 5-2 in favour of Arsenal. All the five goals came from different scorers, which pleased Arsene Wenger.

"I felt with the two results we had against Schalke and against Manchester United, our confidence level dropped and because we are a team that likes to go forward, when your confidence drops, you game suffers straight away. So it was important to get back to positive results to get back to our level. This team is something special. They want to do well and they have quality," said Wenger. As a result of this victory, Arsenal leapfrog Tottenham in the sixth position. They still remain many points off the title challengers Manchester United and Manchester City.
